For the Values Project, I decided to take photos of my brother and my dog because I value having them in my life. This year, my brother has struggled to adjust to college life, especially during a pandemic, and he's lost people close to him. He's questioning whether college is even right for him and is thinking about possibly dropping out. As his older sister, we were never really close because we always had such different interests and social lives. Since he moved to Kalamazoo, we've started talking more, but before that, we never really spoke. I feel it's my job to support my brother in his decisions. Some days we eat lunch together and talk. Other days we go to the park, walk the dog, and chat. I think visiting the dog at the park and playing Frisbee are a good distraction for him and help him get out of bed. I value our relationship because this year we've been able to bond and become friends. That means a lot to me.
