Museum of Values

Pop-up Schwerin

What defines community – and how do we show it?

In October 2025, the Museum of Values will come to Schwerin – right in the heart of the city, right in the middle of conversation. The pop-up exhibition brings to life what holds a city together – with real stories, personal objects, and open questions about our shared values. Because values are more than just buzzwords – they are evident in everyday life: in the trust between neighbors, in mutual responsibility, in small gestures and big decisions. The exhibition will make precisely these facets of community spirit visible. What is important to you? What keeps you connected to others? What should stay – or change?

Values Workshop

What's special about this exhibition: Your perspective will be part of this exhibition. On September 25, 50 people from Schwerin will have the opportunity to contribute their perspective on community in an open workshop—with their own stories, memories, or meaningful objects. What you bring will shape the image of what community spirit can mean in Schwerin today—in Schwerin, with Schwerin, for Schwerin.

In the interactive workshop Why Values Matter, we will explore our own values and rediscover them through exchange with others.

Location

Community needs spaces that enable it – and the Herboldt family provides us with just such a space . Schlossstraße 30 opens up a special location for this project: in the heart of the city, easily accessible and visible. For us, free use is far more than just practical help – it's a sign of trust in what we do and a support for cultural engagement and community-oriented work. A true space of opportunity – for conversations, new perspectives, and what unites us.

Pop-up Cafe

The owners of Café Milou are treating us to delicious coffee and cake as early as October, as they don't actually open until January. We've teamed up for the exhibition and everything else to create a special space for you now. So, you'll get a taste of a place that will continue to stand for community and encounters even after the Museum for Values pop-up in Schwerin.
