When I moved to Bremen, I thought my class didn't like me. But then, when I was supposed to go back to Berlin, my class proved they did. They split into groups to buy a chain link each. There were nine groups. They gave these chain links to my teacher, and she made them into a small chain. On the last day of school, they gave me this chain and said: "This chain symbolizes our class. When you leave, a link will be missing, and then the chain will no longer be together, but apart." When I unpacked the chain in Berlin, I always remembered those words. Since then, this chain has had a place of honor on my shelf.
