I love reading. No matter how stressful everyday life is, simply diving into another world is so relaxing. "You Beside Me and Between Us the Whole World" is my absolute favorite book. It's about Madeline, who suffers from a rare genetic defect and can't leave the house because her immune system is underdeveloped, and any minor illness could kill her. But she doesn't let it get her down and lives her life anyway: She falls in love with her new neighbor, runs away from home with him, and risks her life just to be completely normal for a few days. This book opened my eyes to how short life really is and that you should live every day as if it were your last. You should simply enjoy life and consider yourself lucky to be healthy. That's why this book means the world to me. It's simply incredibly beautifully written. Once you start reading, you can't put it down because you immediately empathize with Madeline and can easily put yourself in her shoes.
