In 2012, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to undergo surgery. The day before the surgery, a neighbor came with a wind-up lucky pig. The many encouraging wishes, gifts, and hugs touched me deeply. But I had to say goodbye to this little wind-up lucky pig, which wobbled so merrily.
laugh so much that I forgot all my fears and worries for a moment.
Throughout the entire phase of chemotherapy and radiation treatment, this little lucky charm always gave me a good feeling.
I've recovered, and perhaps the piggy played a part in my still being here. I kept it as a reminder of the difficult times I went through, and it still touches me deeply today.
I say thank you for the encouragement.
