I took this picture to represent freedom of expression. Many people know that I dye my hair often and generally change my look regularly. I took this picture to represent how free I feel both during the dyeing process and afterward, when I see all my friends and they can comment on how it turned out. For me, my hair never turns out perfect, but I think that's the beauty of it, because you try so hard to achieve something and you never know exactly how it will turn out, and who knows, maybe you'll end up loving it. I also took the artistic license to crop the edge of the bowl to show that my hair is never-ending and will constantly change in the future. I also left a lot of space at the top to show that the sky is the limit for me and I won't stop until I have to. Although this is a black and white photography class, I chose the colors of my dyes used for this production very carefully. All of the dyes shown in the picture are my current hair colors, and while they will likely change in the next month, the fact is that my hair is these specific colors right now.
