Unfortunately, my partner and I have extremely different musical tastes: hand-crafted guitar rock vs. pop. Don't grin, it's true! Every attempt to convert the other has failed. Since then, we've practiced respect and tolerance practically every day and have stopped our initial judgment of each other. We've learned to accept each other's deeply internalized musical tastes. We tolerate the music when the other plays it. Because we love each other. We also respect the artists' achievements, because each is an outstanding artist in their own field.
