I met my girlfriend Anja while we were studying together. That was 35 years ago now. We rarely see each other, even though Göttingen isn't far from Braunschweig. What connects us? When we meet, we can laugh together—loudly and heartily! We take an interest in each other's lives. We share our professional experiences. We follow our children's careers. We look back with joy on the many years we've known each other. Anja gave me a folder. She bound it herself. I treat it with care because it means a lot to me—just as much as our friendship.
