My two best friends and I have known each other since first grade. We've been good friends ever since and still spend a lot of time together. We're all doing our apprenticeships now and have boyfriends. Nevertheless, we make time for each other and can do anything together. We can laugh and joke and just be childish, but we can also confide in each other's secrets and make sure they stay between us. When we argue, we always make up, and after we make up, everything goes back to normal, even if the fight was a bit heated and lasted a long time. We all experience great things together, but I'll tell you about a very special experience that I'll never forget. One Sunday afternoon during the Whitsun holidays, we went to a champagne reception with our village's gardening association. The mayor and other important people came to give speeches. We, the gardening association, stood on stage wearing only our traditional costumes and were allowed to hold flowers. It was all totally boring for us. As a thank you, everyone received a box of chocolates at the end. That evening we arranged to meet at a friend's house to take pictures and chat a bit. Of course, we all took our boxes of chocolates with us so we could eat them together. After we had talked for a bit, we started taking photos of ourselves together. These photos still hang in my room today, and whenever I see them I remember them. The pictures were really funny, and we had a lot of fun. When we opened the chocolates, we noticed that they were filled with alcohol, and since we weren't allowed to drink alcohol yet, we found that all the more interesting. There was a gold ribbon tied around the packaging of the chocolates. It looked really pretty, so we decided not to throw it away, but to make friendship bracelets out of them. All three of us have been wearing these bracelets on our wrists for three years now, and whenever I see them, I remember that day and feel connected to my best friends.
