Since Dominik returned home last week after eight months of his work and travel trip (New Zealand, Cook Islands, Australia, and Asia), things have been a bit turbulent for us. My "little anecdote" also concerns Dominik's return. In those eight months, Dominik experienced a lot, saw a lot, gained experience, met many nice people, and had a wonderful time. He had to take care of a lot of things himself (accommodation, flights, laundry, food, etc.). That was the plan, after all! It certainly didn't hurt him, and he realized that he took a lot of things for granted from "Mom" at home.
He now appreciates this much more, but still enjoys it (which is fine :)
A few weeks before his return he wrote:
He's really looking forward to going home and to "Mommy's" food (I'm really not a good cook)!!!
This touched and pleased me so much. He sent me a food wish list for the first few days after his return. I'm enclosing a photo of it. All of his food wishes have now been fulfilled, and he enjoyed it.
