The boots represent the value of diversity. I usually wear these boots when I visit my family in Mexico in the winter. Everyone there wears them; they're very culturally and aesthetically distinct. But back home in the US, these boots are rarely worn for the same reasons—namely, due to cultural influence. Here, such boots aren't worn as often, at least I haven't seen them often outside of my home.
