I had a serious accident and had to cancel my plans for an internship abroad at short notice
Cancel. Within 10 days, however, I was very lucky to find a new internship in a place in southern Germany I'd never heard of before, but at least there was a physiotherapy practice there – right next to the office. This place is very close to the Swiss border, so apartments there are extremely expensive and in demand, so
It was quite a challenge to find an apartment in just two weeks. In my desperation
I asked in the university Facebook group if anyone knew anyone in that area who might be able to give me some advice on finding an apartment. Jana wrote back. I didn't know her. Jana put me in touch with her parents, who lived in the area. That same day, I called them both, and they immediately offered me to stay with them for the first two weeks (afterward, they moved away themselves).
We'll find something for me. They took me, a stranger, in during their move and gave me a wonderful start in the town, where I later spent 2.5
years.
