“I got a TWO DOLLAR BILL!” My American roommate happily came
I returned home one afternoon, beaming. A two-dollar bill, she explained, was very rare. It rarely appeared as a means of payment, and if it did, people kept it. Because of the situation, she gave me the bill: "Take it and keep it!" Perhaps it brings good luck? That was almost 30 years ago. I received another bill afterward. I kept that one because it reminded me of the truly friendly nature of my roommate, who went out of her way to introduce me to everyday American culture during my time studying in the USA.
