I am Barbara Schwartz , an enthusiastic, language-loving, responsible and disciplined Lübeck enthusiast who loves to dance.

Courage is a value that guides me in life.

Because I – both professionally and personally – always try to approach new tasks and challenges with courage. And this despite the fact that, as the child of war children, I was at least superficially taught in my parents' home that modesty, control, and staying within safe boundaries are key to a successful life.

Closeness is a value that constantly challenges me.

Because I prefer to rely on myself and have learned that it's not good to ask for help or admit weakness. Everything used to have to look perfect on the outside. Allowing myself to be vulnerable and showing myself as a human being who makes mistakes – that's a task that has accompanied me throughout my life.

Curiosity is a value that our society should embrace more.

In the sense of genuine interest and the desire to know: how another person is doing, how they think and what their motives are.
