Fabian Heyking is in the final stages of his second Bachelor's degree in Forestry in Dresden. Since October, he has been working a new student job and is passionately dedicated to nature, politics, and sports.

Attention is a value that guides me in life.

This statistic shows that people act openly and thoughtfully in their environment. Often, it's the small gestures that can make a big difference: giving up a seat on the bus, holding the door open, or helping a person with a disability. It's a small act for oneself – but very often it has a significant impact on the other person, even if it's only acknowledged with a smile or a thank you.

Communication is a value that constantly challenges me.

Because communication is everything. It's easy to say one thing but not understand another. Nothing works without clear and respectful communication. Communicating your intentions clearly and understandably can often be challenging, even in small situations.

Respect is a value that our society should live by more.

It forms the basis of our coexistence. Respect enables peace, security, and a better life together. Respectful interaction in everyday life reduces insults, escalation, and violence, and instead promotes civic courage.
