The story of these movie tickets began in 2000, the year a second girl was born in our small village. Because our mothers had known and liked each other since childhood, they decided that their two daughters should also play together. We often met at the playground, at the playgroup, or even at home. After a while, we were old enough to finally be allowed to attend the local kindergarten. We were best friends, and no one knew each other except as a pair. At four, we started dancing together with our carnival club. Finally, the time had come, and we could finally start elementary school! Even on the first day of school, there wasn't a picture in which we couldn't spot the other one. We were inseparable. After completing four years of elementary school, my girlfriend tried to take the entrance exam for the Realschule (secondary school), while I could have actually attended Gymnasium (high school). However, because we wanted to stay together, I enrolled there as well. Unfortunately, she didn't pass the exam and had to go to a different school. This was also in a different city, which made it increasingly difficult to see each other. At first, we tried very hard to keep playing and doing things together, but over time, it became less frequent. We both made new friends, and as a result, we ended up hurting each other. Despite this, we tried not to lose touch. The weekly training helped with this, as we continued to dance for the club. Throughout the years of secondary school, our friendship was a constant back and forth, but we tried to maintain contact and friendship through shared activities. We did this, for example, by watching children's films together that would have been too embarrassing for anyone our age. When we finally reached tenth grade, my friend surprised me by accompanying me to school on the day my grades were announced. She knew how nervous I was about such things and never left my side. After that, a new adventure began for us: training to be kindergarten teachers. Even in kindergarten, it had been her wish to learn this profession, but I had always resisted it. But now, after all these years, that opinion has changed. We go to the same school, even the same class, and are in closer contact again. A topic we can talk about and that interests us both, as well as our 14th year in the carnival guard, are bonding us together, even after almost 18 years of friendship. Even though times have sometimes been tough on us and tried to separate us, we've always managed to stay together. Thank you, I love you.
