Solidarität

Being isolated is difficult. More difficult than I expected. I've always enjoyed being alone and travel alone from time to time. So when our employer told us employees we'd be working from home for four weeks, I thought it wouldn't be such a big deal. But it is. I feel lonely. I've been isolated in a furnished apartment in Frankfurt for almost a week now. I normally live in Düsseldorf, but I'm currently on a so-called rotation in our Frankfurt office. So, I'm not really at home. The greatest support and solidarity in this difficult situation actually comes from my employer and my dear colleagues. Our managers are giving us security these days, and colleagues are there for each other. I receive so many calls every day, not only from my former colleagues in Düsseldorf, but also from my new colleagues in Frankfurt. I notice that they genuinely care about me and are worried that I'm not home. They act like my family, without me having to ask. Working and living in such an environment is a true privilege. People can be so good to each other.
