My little brother Maik

Mein kleiner Bruder Maik

Mom wanted a boy to be called Maik. On December 7, 1962, I was born as Ines, a little girl. But Maik was always there, too. He is my teddy bear, my favorite stuffed animal, and my little brother. As far as I can remember, he was always with me and always there for me. I took him for walks in the doll's pram and showed him my big, little world. Even in winter, on the sled, he was always with me and accompanied me. When it was time to sleep, he went to bed with me. He always gave me security. My little brother, my Maik. You grumbled once, but when I went swimming with you, you fell silent. But I loved you anyway. You accompanied me from the very beginning, you were always there for me. Even today, more than 60 years later, I have you lying next to me in bed. And we still look after each other. My dear teddy, my dear Maik, my little brother.
