#43 Tina Stavemann

I'm Tina Stavemann , a career mentor for international academics in Germany, and I'm passionate about what I do. I support companies in building welcoming structures so that international professionals not only come, but also stay. My motivation is to connect people with themselves, with others, and with their home – especially internationals. I want to actively contribute to ensuring that Germany remains a livable, open country.

Integrity is a value that guides me in life.

Because I want to live in a diverse, vibrant, and international Germany—a Germany where words and actions align and all people are treated with respect. Living with integrity isn't easy right now, as it can be uncomfortable. But it's worth every effort, because now people are finding me who share my vision and are moving in the same direction. That feels wonderful. Because only those who are clear can be truly seen.

Integrity is a value that constantly challenges me.

Because it makes me vulnerable, defenseless, and I have to cope with the resulting feelings alone. But I can endure that today, as I've learned and practiced it for many years. That's not a given, because we Germans all descend from ancestors traumatized by war. These traumas are often passed down until someone allows themselves to feel the old emotions and breaks the cycle. I broke that cycle, and only because of that can I contain my own feelings today.

Connection is a value that our society should embrace more.

Because it makes us gentle and peaceful. Only through connection does life become beautiful, and deep down, that's exactly what everyone longs for.
