Security, safety & closeness

What values are reflected in your work and why, Daniele?

"My paintings often focus on contrasting moods: dark, threatening scenes juxtapose moments of affection, such as figures embracing each other. The desire for security is the central value reflected in my work. Be it through an oppressive atmosphere due to the lack of that very security, or through figures who give each other precisely what we all seek—warmth, support, and closeness. We all want to feel safe, especially with our loved ones, and I address this universal need in my works."
